Movement on the Ground 2020
In Fall 2020, PxP Embassy joined forces with Movement On The Ground to help empower and educate children. PxP helped raise money to provide computers for two shelters in Athens with the goal of continued support through online classes. This collaboration has flourished out of love, compassion, and like-mindedness.
Helping refugees and beyond
Movement On The Ground is a Dutch organisation on a mission to provide a dignified, innovative and sustainable response to the refugee crisis in Europe that benefits both displaced people and their host populations. Founded in 2015 by five business people and creatives, Movement On The Ground brought experience and a network in the music festival industry to help inform how emergency aid was distributed to refugees upon their arrival to the shores of Europe.
With a fixed presence on the islands of Lesvos, Samos and now Athens, Movement On The Ground is helping to care for over 6,000 people on the move. The organization believes that all people deserve to live in a safe and enabling environment and together with the communities which they support, they make this dream a reality.
Currently, there are 4,500 unaccompanied displaced minors living in Greece, many falling outside a system of protection and in urgent need of accommodation. Movement On The Ground stepped into this huge gap by opening three new shelters for minors aged 13 to 18 years old.
