PxP Delivering Aid with UNICEF 2017

in South Sudan, Somalia, and Nigeria

In South Sudan, Somalia, and Nigeria, more than 1 million children are at risk of starvation. Armed conflicts are commonplace in these regions, and man-made crises also aggravate extreme poverty and the fallout of natural disasters such as drought.

UNICEF provides children with therapeutic foods, clean water, and medicine. With PxP Festival donations and PxP Embassy support, UNICEF was able to provide 6,600 mosquito nets to protect children from malaria and 54,620 pediatric doses of a measles vaccine in South Sudan. This collective aid project also supplied peanut paste for 1,127 severely malnourished children in Somalia and 57,392 packets of high-protein biscuits to children in Nigeria—a quick nourishment in emergency situations where nutritious food was not guaranteed.
