Our mission is to build a truly inclusive society together through the power of music, education and human connection
Our joint work began in 2015, precisely at the time when over a million people who had lost their homes arrived in Germany in search of safety and peace. The country that took us in and gave us refuge almost 40 years ago – and where we have long since become at home. Integration has therefore worked out very well for us, as has the dream of self-realization. We have taken full advantage of the privilege of being able to pursue our academic and professional goals. ‘Fetsum from studying politics to a career in music & Teddy from studying economics to his own fashion company. Job, family, friends – everything is fine.
Aber hatten wir einfach nur Glück?
In many ways – but above all the luck of meeting the right people. Our unforgotten everyday heroes who saw us and our potential and showed us opportunities. We wouldn’t be here without these jokers. Now it was time to give back. Kehrwoche, as we Swabians say.
Aus diesem Impuls haben wir den PxP EMBASSY e.V. gestartet. Einen Verein, der sich für Chancengerechtigkeit und Integration einsetzt und vor allem den Kindern eine Stimme gibt.
We started with what we know best: music. On June 5, 2016, the first PxP FESTIVAL took place at the sold-out Waldbühne in Berlin in front of over 20,000 people. Over the years, we have continued to develop the non-profit embassy with a focus on educational equality and at the same time founded a music label and a consultancy on diversity, inclusion and equal opportunities to support companies on their way to assuming social responsibility.

“Our parents had to fight for freedom. Today we are free and strive for peace”
In 2013, one year after the release of his acclaimed debut album “The Colors of Hope”, the musician, social and cultural entrepreneur gathered a group of friends to find an answer to the ongoing refugee crisis. It was the birth of the PxP FESTIVAL, Europe's largest charity festival for children. Together with his congenial partner Teddy Tewelde, he founded the PxP Embassy e.V., an association for educational justice & transformation, in 2016. “Education is the key to a more peaceful world & music is our amplifier,” he explains. In the same year, he published a book on social and political engagement with the Minister of State for Culture, Claudia Roth, released the EP “Light in a Dark Place” and was awarded the Order of Merit of the State of Berlin. Fetsum Sebhat is co-chairman of PxP EMBASSY e.V., member of the German UNESCO Commission, ECHO, LEA and PREIS FÜR POPKULTUR award winner.

“The song that motivates me
motivates me the most? “Man in the Mirror” by Michael Jackson
Teddy Tewelde is a fashion, social & cultural entrepreneur and co-founder of PxP EMABSSY e.V. In 2008, he left the corporate world behind and moved to Berlin to realize the idea of a sustainable fashion start-up together with a friend. As a refugee child and son of parents who fought for freedom in Eritrea, he could not stand idly by when the first reports of an impending refugee crisis reached him in 2013. Together with his childhood friend and congenial partner, Fetsum Sebhat, they took heart and founded the PxP FESTIVAL – Europe's largest charity festival for children. After the success of the first edition in 2016, it was clear that it would not stop there. With his background in finance and economics and his ability to think outside the box, Teddy is responsible for strategizing and fine-tuning the creative mechanisms at PxP. So that PxP can have the greatest possible positive impact in the lives of many children and thus continuously sow the seeds of peace. “The song that motivates me the most? “Man in the Mirror“ by Michael Jackson,” says the family man with a smile. Teddy Tewelde is co-chairman of PxP EMBASSY e.V., winner of the ECHO, LEA and PREIS FÜR POPKULTUR awards.
